ISAIAH 51:15-16 (NKJV)
15But I am the Lord your God,
Who divided the sea whose waves roared—
The Lord of hosts is His name.
16And I have put My words in your mouth; [Emphasis Added]
I have covered you with the shadow of My hand,
That I may plant the heavens,
Lay the foundations of the earth, [Emphasis Added]
And say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’”

Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me,
Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms,
to pluck up and to break down,
to destroy and to overthrow,
to build and to plant.”

EZEKIEL 37: 3-5, 7, 9, 10
And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, [Emphasis Added] O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live….
So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, [Emphasis Added] and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone…
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, [Emphasis Added] Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on
these slain, that they may live.” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, [Emphasis Added] and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

MARK 11:13-14
And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he
came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. And he said to it, [Emphasis Added] “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it. [Emphasis Added]

MARK 11:22-24
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, [Emphasis Added] whoever says to this mountain, [Emphasis Added] Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says [Emphasis Added] will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, [Emphasis Added] believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

ISAIAH 32:1-8

1Behold, a king will reign in righteousness,
And princes will rule with justice.
2A man will be as a hiding place from the wind,
And a cover from the tempest,
As rivers of water in a dry place,
As the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
3The eyes of those who see will not be dim,
And the ears of those who hear will listen.
4Also the heart of the rash will understand knowledge,
And the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly.
5The foolish person will no longer be called generous,
Nor the miser said to be bountiful;
6For the foolish person will speak foolishness,
And his heart will work iniquity:
To practice ungodliness,
To utter error against the Lord,
To keep the hungry unsatisfied,
And he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
7Also the schemes of the schemer are evil;
He devises wicked plans
To destroy the poor with lying words,
Even when the needy speaks justice.
8But a generous man devises generous things,
And by generosity he shall stand.

Congratulations on ending the 50-Day UJN Prayer and Fasting Season 2020. It has been an unusual but very special year. God has largely preserved Uganda from the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic so far.

Last year’s prayer and fasting season focused on the Media and the Celebration Sphere. Little did we know that God was preparing to transition us into the virtual space! When the year began many had not even heard about Zoom, Teams or Google scholar. In a few months the whole world was forced to learn as restrictions on gathering and movements were imposed in relation to COVID-19. From hardly any virtual meeting, we have moved to hundreds of virtual meetings in just a few months – what acceleration!

It is equally amazing what God has done in the sports sphere. Uganda qualified for the fifth consecutive Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) after beating Burundi 6-0 in the last qualification round. Uganda hosted and took part in the 2019 FIBA 3X3 AfroBasket in November taking the Uganda took bronze in the women’s and finished 5th in the men’s category. Uganda competed at the 2019 All Africa games in Rabat, Morocco and won 2 silver medals and 8 bronze medals in various disciplines finishing 28th on the medal table. Kirabo Namutebi collected five of Uganda’s nine medals at the African Swimming Confederation (CANA) Zone 3 championships in Botswana in February this year.

Halimah Nakaayi’s win and celebration after winning gold in the women’s 800m final at the 2019 IAAF Athletics World Championships at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha on September 30, 2019 brought tears to many Ugandan eyes. She was Uganda’s first middle distance medalist at track and field’s biggest event – only the second woman after Dorcus Inzikuru’s gold in the steeplechase in the 2005 edition in Helsinki. Uganda finished 9th overall, our best performance ever in the history of the World Athletics Championships.

Joshua Cheptegei (as someone has said, take note that his name is Joshua – prophetic of the Joshua generation?) brought home the second gold medal from the 2019 IAAF Athletics World Championships in the 10,000 metres men’s final. This year in February at a road race in Monaco he smashed the 20-year-old 5 km road world record by 9 seconds. Then again in August at the Monaco 2020 Diamond League he set a new 5000 metres world record. Last night as we concluded 50 days of prayer and fasting, in Valencia, Spain Joshua Cheptegei smashed the men’s 10,000m world record making it his fourth world record in 10 months! What a year!

In the year that starts tomorrow, 9th October 2020 – 8th October 2021 the focus was on the Governance Sphere. We look forward to what God has in store.

MATTHEW 6:9-13
Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth
is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all
discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end…

ISAIAH 46:8-13
“Remember this and stand firm, recall it to mind, you transgressors,
remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’ calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country.
I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it.
“Listen to me, you stubborn of heart, you who are far from righteousness:
I bring near my righteousness; it is not far off, and my salvation will not delay;
I will put salvation in Zion, for Israel my glory.”

  • The grace and strength He gave to complete the 50-day prayer and fasting period 2020.
  • The preservation we have experienced in the year 9th October 2020 to today, 8th October 2020.

Father in heaven, as we begin the 59th year of the life of our country we dedicate the next year into your hands to be:

A year where You will increasingly reveal Yourself to us as a country A year where Your name and fame become even greater in Uganda

A year where Your Body will awake from slumber and arise to her rightful place as salt and light to the nation

A year where the measure of the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in our knowledge of Christ will increase, the eyes of our hearts will be enlightened, that we may know what is the hope to which You have called us, what are the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of Your power toward us who believe, according to the working of Your great might that You worked in Christ when You raised him from the dead

A year where Your kingdom will increasingly manifest in all spheres of our country and especially in the National Elections and the Governance Sphere, which is our focus this year

A year during which Uganda will be kept in the centre of your divine plans and in places where we have veered off track You will gently bring us back into the centre of your will as it is in heaven. A year where our economy will not only be revived but will grow beyond projections

A year that you will shield Uganda from diseases, epidemics, pandemics and terrorism

A year where you will lead Uganda in paths of righteousness for your name’s sake

One where You will deliver us from hell’s schemes and the schemes of wicked men and women
both in and out of the country

May your name be greatly glorified in Uganda and your Kingdom purposes advance in all spheres
in the upcoming year

We thank you that you are able to do much, much more than we can ask or even imagine
