Makerere University Christian Union celebrates Jubilee

Community Updates

You are warmly invited to celebrate with us 50 years of the existence of the Makerere University Christian Union on Saturday 10th November at Makerere University Freedom Square at the main campus.

This event is meant to celebrate 50 years since the Makerere University was started in 1962 by the likes of Daniel Kyanda and Bishop Micheal Ssenyimba (now retired Vice-Chancellor of Ndejje University) and it sparked off the Christian Union movement in Uganda, leading to the formation of C.Us in other universities and institutions all over the country and ultimately, the Fellowship of Christian Unions (FOCUS-Uganda) in 1972.

Several alumni of the C.U have been invited and this will be one great day of fun, fellowship and re-union as we celebrate the work of the Lord in the C.U for the past 50 years and also thank Him for the countless lives changed through the C.U.

Please be ready to share your testimony as you come!

The event will start at 1pm and entrance is free! There will be lots to eat and drink throughout the day.
